Join us as we commemorate the 160th anniversary of the events retold in Jack H. Anderson's book, "Dark Lanterns: An American Lynching." Dr. Kirk Tyvela of UWWC will discuss the Know Nothing political party and how it briefly flourished during the mid-19th Century, bouyed by growing tension between Anglo-Americans and European immigrants in the United States. Dr. Tyvela will also address if the Know Nothings really influenced events like the infamous "George DeBar" lynching in West Bend.
