Description
The Yarn Bomb the Museum outdoor public fiber art exhibit opens on Saturday, June 8, 2019 and will run through August 10, 2019. The exhibit features local crafts people who have created fiber based art to decorate the grounds of the Old Courthouse and Old Jailhouse museums at 320 S. 5th Ave, West Bend, WI. See hundreds of crocheted flowers, trees covered in colorful scarves and tiny yarn mushrooms magically growing from stumps. This year we will also have a scavenger hunt inside the Old Courthouse Museum. Complete the hunt with correct answers and be entered to win a prize basket! The grounds are free to explore, the scavenger hunt is free with regular admission to the Old Courthouse Museum. A yarn bomb is a form of public fiber art meant to bring a sense of the unexpected and fun into daily life. It is often whimsical, colorful and can be a large public project or just a small individual piece. Pieces are usually knit or crocheted, but can be any form of fiber art and come from people of all skill levels!
