More than 70 percent of the United States population report using complementary health approaches at some point in their lifetime. This presentation by Kajua Lor, PharmD, BCACP, Medical College of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy director of Ambulatory Care Practice Advancement and associate professor and chair, will provide an overview of natural products with a focus on herbal medicines. Participants attending the session will learn about complementary, integrative, alternative and herbal medicine, as well as the history of herbal medicine use, what the science says, potential side effects and cautions for common herbal medicines. This lecture is the fourth in the 2018 MCW Women in Science lecture series.
